Ol’ Nellie, as I am starting to call the Airstream, pulled up the hill at a rock solid 25mph. We are stopped for now at the exit to the Seven Flags Park. The pull up the vine was wet, low fog and Nellie has a windshield wiper on the driver’s side that wants to go so far down it comes off the glass and sticks. Poor Von had to get out twice to fix it. Another todo.

We left Sommerville at about 1:00 and got here at 4:45. There’s a grocery here so we will stock up on some basics, eat dinner and hit the road again at 7:00pm earliest. We plan to drive through the LA mess at night to ease our nerves a bit. Von is a ball of tension since we have to deal with the truck traffic so much. We average about 60 on the flats so we are right with most of the big rigs.

The roads are patchy. Some sections of smooth going but there are more with stretches of cheap repairs making for a bumpy and rock and roll ride in the rig. Broken government at play.

Off to shop and eat, or eat and shop. Hoping to find a place to sleep tonight on the other side of the LA area. Then on to Quartzeville tomorrow.
