Happy New Year!

We are planning a day of bowl games today. When I woke this morning it seemed to finally dawn on me that we are retired now. The freedom of not having the job responsibilities and the ability to do what we pretty well please seemed more real today. Maybe because of the new year.

The wind is kicking up in the desert today and it has brought in some haze. The morning colors are uplifting compared to the gray wet days n the Pacfic Northwest. We awaken more energized and interested in doing something than we did before. That may have something to do with the fact my health is finally getting better but the golden color coming throught the drapes does seem to make it easier to get up and get going.
