Brrrr! by Von
Woke up this morning here in the sunny desert and it was COLD.
Bentley and I went outside for our morning constitutional and there was frost on the cars. I thought I had left all that back in Oregon. Oh well, at least the three M’s are not here. That’s MOLD, MILDEW and MOSS. When I retired I said that I wanted to go somewhere that they never heard of the three M’s. Mesa, AZ does not have any of them. It is great, even though it is cold in the mornings, it doesn’t stay around all day, it warms up into the 60s this time of year. ![]()
Sure wish I had been in Oregon for Lizzy’s wedding, it looks like through the pictures that it was really lovely. It just amazes me how technology has come along so far that photos can be shared so easily on the computers now and I can at least see what I missed. I wish Elizabeth and Tom all the best for their future together. They do look like a happy couple. ![]()
Greg has decided to buy his son’s (Aaron) car, a Volkswagen Jetta, for us to tow behind the motor home. He is going to drive it back from Oregon to Bentley and me here in Mesa, AZ. That will add an extra couple of days to his trip to get back to us.
But when he gets here it will be great to be able to jump into the car and go site seeing. It will be a lot easier with a car than to drive the motor home to all the things that we want to see along the way. Hope Greg drives safely back to us. Well, if I had to sit some place and miss and worry about Greg, I guess this is a good place to be. It is hard to be depressed and gloomy when the sun is shining brightly every day. ![]()
Today is the NFL playoffs and I’m not sure which teams I would like to see in the superbowl. It isn’t quite as exciting to watch the games this year because we aren’t in any NFL pools. I don’t have any teams that I really care about this year because I don’t have any money at stake. It always comes down to money, heh? That shows where my true loyalties lie. The mighty dollar? I usually pull for the underdogs, so that will probably be who I back this time too.
Bentley and I are going to go out and have a nice long walk in the sunshine. He really is finding his voice and barking at everything and everybody. He thinks he is a great big watch dog and is taking good care of his Mom. His training to not bark at everything is not going quickly. As Greg always says, “Bentley is not the brightest bulb in the chandelier.” He is awfully cute though!
