Feels like Oregon by Von
Well, here we sit on a gray, rainy Sunday morning just like we did so many times in Oregon, however there are several differences being here in the rain in Mesa, AZ.
It is warm.
The temperature this morning when Bentley and I went out for our first contintutional was 51 degrees. Bentley has gotten pretty spoiled with the dry surroundings, he searched and searched for a dry spot to do his business. With no luck he finally gave up and did his job. He was funny to watch because he didn’t want to sit down on the cement and get his little bottom wet.
I guess I can’t blame him for that, I wouldn’t want to sit on the wet cement either.
Another difference with the rain here is that it won’t last long. It’s supposed to be gone by Monday afternoon, not like back in Oregon when the rain comes and doesn’t seem to go away for MONTHS.
Since there is no grass here in the desert country, there are no soggy patches to get your fur all wet in. The landscaping is mainly just rock and gravel with a palm tree stuck in the ground every so often. The lack of grass is a good thing when you have a little guy who is all hair and gets all matted up when he walks in the wet grass. Bentley was made for the desert. Until it gets HOT I think I am too.
This seems to be a good day for reading a book and just relaxing.
Yesterday we had a real nice lunch with Glen and Beth Horsmann and Bill and Harriet Agee. It was fun to see Bill and Harriet after so many years. They seem to really like being retired here in Arizona. I know what they mean, I’m enjoying it also.
