Lake front Property by Von

Oh, oh, we may see the rent go up around here. Some of the spaces in this RV Resort now have lake front property. On Sunday it rained over an inch and that’s a lot for around here. There were flash flood warnings but we are not near any ditches or streams that flooded and in no danger. The streets in the RV Park don’t have drainage grates for the water to run into. All the rain water runs down the middle of the street and into the “dry gulch” (baseball field) and collects. I took some pictures of the “lake” where there is a batting cage, horseshoe pits, golfing practice cage, baseball field, etc. I particularly like the signs that tell us pet owners to keep the pets off the grass (what grass?). When all this drys out, I’ll take some more pictures so that you will be able to see the difference.

Even with all the rain (not much compared to Oregon), I still am glad that I’m not having to deal with the snow that Oregon is dealing with right now. I asked Shiela to send me some snow pictures so that we can put them up on our web site and brag about how we don’t have to deal with that stuff anyway. It is beautiful, but I think I want to look at it at a distance and not be in it any more. I’ve had enough of that white stuff for a life time. I’d like to say that about the rain, but I guess it would be impossible to avoid rain for the rest of my life. I’m sure going to try though.

Since the Jetta is in the shop for a couple of days I guess we better do some of the chores around here that we would rather put off and go sight seeing instead. Oh well, maybe we should act like responsible adults once in awhile (who says?). Just because we are retired that doesn’t mean that every day is a vacation day. On second thought, it does feel like a vacation every day that I wake up. I’m really having a great time being retired. I don’t miss having to go to work every day and being exhausted at the end of the day. Now every day is a vacation day and I’m going to enjoy every minute of it. I recommend that everybody retire as soon as they can.

Off to do chores, or not, whichever takes a grip on me.
