Bentley learning Social Skills by Von
Bentley is doing really well with the “no bark” at everything that passes by our RV spot. Now we are learning to be sociable with other dogs. This RV Park has a wonderful dog run. It is real long and pretty big. I take Bentley up to the dog run during the day not to necessarily to do his business, but to learn some social skills with people and other dogs. He hasn’t found a person that isn’t a friend, he loves everybody!
We will go in the dog run and I will take him off his leash and we wait for other dogs to come in to the run. Bentley wants to play with every dog that he sees so he will run towards them barking and then run right back to me and behind my legs. He is the funniest little creature to watch.
The other dogs think he is crazy and will ignore him or just stand there and stare at this little pest.
The people laugh at him because he is such a cutie. He is all bark and no bite. We were at our nephew’s house the other night and his roommate just got a 6 week old boxer puppy. Bentley the big barker was scared of this cute little puppy because it wanted to play with Bentley and wouldn’t back down from him. Greg called Bentley a big woosey. Bentley may be a big woosey, but he’s a relly cute one. He just makes you want to laugh.
Bentley has brought a lot of joy to our lives and a lot of other people.
The sightseeing was a lot of fun and I can’t wait to go do some more. It rained a lot on Monday and the weather has been pretty cold this winter for this area this year. All the conversations that I overhear are of people griping about the cold. Most of these people in this RV Park are from Canada, Wisconsin, Minnesota, etc. and they are wondering why they didn’t just stay home.
The lady at the post office here said she wanted her 103 degree weather back. Boy, not me, but a little warmer than the 50s would be nice. The forcast is calling for “spring time” temperatures where it will get into the 70s. They call it “spring time” temperatures and in Oregon we call that kind of weather “summer time” weather. Maybe I can now start wearing my sandles instead of my hiking socks and shoes.
Well, on to some chores today and then maybe some sightseeing later. We have a water leak in our pipes somewhere and need to check it out and see if we can’t stop that from happening. With an RV there is always something that needs to be worked on, but that’s all in the fun of owning one. And poor little Bentley needs a bath so Greg and I are going to put him through that torture (that ’s what he thinks we are doing to him).
Poor thing.
