Happy Valentine's Day by Von

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!! My daughter gave me the best gift ever for Valentine’s Day. She works for a wholesaler that supplies florists with their flowers and stuff for their stores. They have been really busy getting all the supplies and flowers to their florist accounts before Valentine’s day. One of their trucking companies that deliver to them comes out of Florida and it was delayed last week and when the delivery was finally made to them all of the shipment of flowers were frozen! Shiela’s company couldn’t sell the flowers to the florist so Shiela picked through the mess and saved what she could and took a bunch home. She sent pictures to me for my Valentine’s Day gift. It was kinda cool because I could also see her home and felt like I was there too. It was a really nice gift to me. I will post the photos on our photo gallery when I learn how. Check it out, it will be on soon.

The last couple of days have been filled with paperwork obligations. We are trying to establish a Texas address so that we don’t have to pay Oregon income tax along with the sales taxes we keep running into being in these other states. I feel like I’m being taxed beyond my responsibilities. I don’t mind paying my fair share of taxes for the greater good, but there is a point where I feel like I’m doing more than my share. We also needed to wire Aaron money for the Jetta and had to fax our credit union some paperwork. Getting all this paperwork in order made me feel like I was back at work again. It is what I do very well (organize paperwork) so it felt kinda good that I still have it, even though I’m an old retired fart.

Getting Greg’s back better is the top priority for the moment so that we can get back to sightseeing again. I guess getting old is one of the things that comes with living, and sometimes it hurts (these old bodies). Oh well, this too shall pass and we will be on our way again soon.
