But it makes everything so green! by Von
It seems that I am always blogging about the weather. Now that we are in Oregon again, the weather news from me is wet, wet, wet! It makes everything SO green. For the next six months while Greg is working for SEIU, I’m going to be liking this kind of weather. What can a person do? ![]()
Since we have been staying at Jim and Kim’s house, Bentley has really enjoyed himself! Jim and Kim have two dogs. Toby is part Jack Russel and something else and is 11 years old. Yoshi is a shi tsu and is around 3 or 4 years old. Bentley thinks it is great that he has two cousins to play around with. Toby doesn’t play much with the little rascal, but Yoshi will play with Bentley for about 3 minutes and then that is enough for him. The other thing that Bentley is really enjoying about being here is that there is a back yard where he can explore and do his business in without having to be tethered up on a leash. He went on a little adventure on his own yesterday afternoon. The front door was open and he did his escaping artist thing and went for a little walk all by his self. I was sitting on the front porch enjoying a cigarette and looked across the street into the neighbors yard and saw a cute little dog that looked a lot like Bentley. I thought to myself, “Somebody’s dog is out, I bet he isn’t supposed to be out alone.” Then I took a closer look and it was BENTLEY!!!
I calmly called him and he came running to me, boy that was a close call. I don’t know what I would do if we lost him, we have grown so attached to the little guy.
Kim has introduced me to some computer games and I think I am getting hooked. Just what I need, some computer mindless fun to take up more of my day.
It just amazes me how the time flies now that I am retired. The days go by so fast, I didn’t think they would go by this fast when I retired, but they are. I always seem to find bunches to do during the day.
Shiela is driving over to Reedsport from Eugene today and we are going to take Bentley and her dog, Lola on the beach if it does rain too much. That should be a lot of fun. One of Shiela’s favorite things is to take her dogs to the beach, so this should be a really fun adventure. ![]()
Greg and I are getting ready to send him to work on Monday. It feels really funny to think that he is going to work after all these months that he has been working. It has been since May that he really worked. I’ve never stayed home while he goes to work, so this should be quite an adjustment for us. For now I will be staying with Kim to help out with Jimmy while Greg stays with his daughter in Corvallis during the week. This arrangement might be the best to ease us both into Greg going off to work during the day and me staying at home. I’m kind of looking forward to being the stay at home partner in this relationship. ![]()
