Snow in March? by Von
It seems that whenever I blog on this site it is about the weather. This year has given me a lot to say about the weird weather, no matter where I happen to be sitting.
On March 31st it was snowing here in Salem in the morning. That is really bizzar!!
Now on April 2nd it is sunny and nice! The old saying of “If you don’t like the weather in Salem right now, just wait a minute and it will change", seems to be hitting the mark this year. If I have to be retired and sitting around with free time in Salem, I think I like it best when it is sunny and not raining.
I’m hoping that during this summer while Greg is working the weather will be okay. If the weather is not cooperative, I will survive some how anyway, it will just be nicer if it isn’t raining.
In a couple of weeks we are going to get our new awning and then when it rains, I will have some cover to sit under while I smoke my cigaretts and Bentley does his business. It is pretty exciting to be able to restore this old motorhome and replace the old appliances in it. I’m really glad that we had the furnace replaced last week since the temperatures at night have dipped into the 20s. That has made it almost barable with these low, low temps. ![]()
Speaking of low temps., I need to knit another sweater for poor little Bentley for these cold, cold mornings! The one that I knitted for him a few months ago is way too small for him now. He has grown a little since that sweater was knitted. Bentley still only weighs about 10 pounds and is such a cute little guy. His lesson for this month is to not go out in the street and to stay in his yard. He is enjoying the extra space that this RV spot has with more grass and space for him to sniff and play in. ![]()
It has been interesting this past week around this RV park with neighbors coming by and remembering us from when we were here in November for Greg’s surgery. They are all asking about how he is doing and I am so happy that I can report good news about his recovery!!
Greg is almost back to being new, with a little more muscle strengthing and he will be just like new.
Greg drove his motorcycle to work yesterday for the first time since his bicycle accident in May last year.
He and I were a little nervous at first, but now he is having fun riding it again, especially in this wonderful sunshine that we have been having the last two days.
As usual, I hope he is careful!!!
I’m always going to worry about him on that thing, but then, that’s how I am.
I’ve been watching the temperatures in Mesa, AZ since we have arrived in Oregon and I think I am happy I am here in this moderate climate because it is starting to get a little warm in Arizona and I hate the hot temperatures!! Happy to be here right now.
