Was it Lady Luck? by Von

Wow, that was a great basketball game last night. I was rooting for Kansas so that I could win the March Madness pool. I had counted myself out at the end of the game with Kansas down but then, they hit the 3 pointer to tie up the game!! It went into overtime and Kansas won!!! My tie breaking points were even close, I missed the final score by 1 point. However, if you look at the entire list of picks you will also see that I came in first and last! I think lady luck had a lot to do with my winning the pool. Oh well, I’ll take it anyway, it probaby wont’t happen ever again, so I’m basking in the warm glow of a winner for now. There’s always next year for me to be in the bottom of the pool again where I normally fall.

Saturday Greg and I went to a political conference that SEIU, Local 503, OPEU had arranged. It was great fun to see the old bunch of friends there. I felt really welcomed back into the fold of activist. It gave me a very excited feeling to be in a room of about 500 people with the same philosophy as me. They even had a telephone call come in from Barrack Obama and that we really exciting.

Well, it is time to send Greg off to work again this morning. I’m kind of liking being retired and not having to rush off to work every morning. I just wish that there was some way that Greg could get paid for working without having to go off and actually have to work. Well, when I figure that out, I guess then I will be a millionaire and not have to worry about watching him drive off and be gone all day. I’ll let everybody know when I figure it out.

Bentley and I are going to relax for the day and enjoy our lives as retirees until Greg can join us and play with us too.
