Happy Birthday to Bentley by Von

Today is Bentley’s birthday. He was born a year ago and spent his first 3 months getting ready to be a great little puppy for Greg and me. He then joined Greg and me on our traveling adventures. He has worked out to be the best little guy for us. I can’t get more than 2 inches away from him or he thinks his world is totally falling apart. I had always wanted a dog that really bonded with me and I have one with Bentley. I can’t imagine not having him around. He gets such a kick out of everything we do. He enjoys (in fact prefers) to be outside chasing bugs and birds, eating little sticks or big ones if he can manage them, fetching his ball (or anything else I throw) and barking at the neighbors and their dogs so they will come over and play with him. As long as I’m outside with him, he is a happy camper just enjoying anything that comes along. I’ve enjoyed having him around so much, I even thought about getting another little Havanese puppy to keep him company and give me twice the joy. Then I come to my senses and remember how much work it is to keep his hair clean and untangled! One Bentley at a time is enough. So, Happy Birthday to Bentley and hope we have many, many more years to enjoy each other!!!

He was a little tired after romping on the beach yesterday morning in Lincoln City. He could hardly get himself into bed last night. But this morning when we woke, my calves were a little sore from all the stair climbing and beach walking, but Bentley was raring to go as usual. He keeps me moving and hopefully will keep me feeling young as we grow up with each other in the years to come.
