Sisters Rodeo by Greg
We bought tickets to the Saturday session of the Sisters Rodeo, one of those many Oregon events I have never been to before. Should be fun. I think the last rodeo I went to was in Roseburg some 20 plus years ago. The only one I remember before that was in Lakeview when I was about 12 years old when they had an all Indian rodeo. I vividly remember the bareback bronco event when an obviously very drunk man was hoisted on the horse by his so called buddies. They opened the shoot and the horse bucked once sending the rider what seems like was 5 feet higher than the horses back. The horse came down, bucked again and the rider and the horse connected again. Knocked the poor guy out cold. I suspect I won’t see such as that again.
We finally are seeing some summer weather today. We are sitting on the outside deck in Camp Sherman and it is comfortable for the first time since we got here to sit in shorts (Yay) and t shirt. We are crossing our fingers that it holds up and we can get out and about more. We’ve watched 5 or 6 movies waiting out the rain. Saw There Will Be Blood last night. The day before we went with Russel Crow for 3:10 to Yuma and Master and Commander. I love that second movie, I’ve seen it a half dozen times or more. Yuma was good. Kind of a different sort of Cowboy movie ending. Blood stays with you. Very intense. Daniel Day Lewis was absolutely fantastic.
