First Aid

So we were sitting in camp the other evening when two women stopped their car and came into our spot asking if we had any band aids. One of them had fallen on the rocks at a nearby waterfall and skinned up her knee pretty badly. So I got to open my newly acquired first aid kit and use my training to help her out. The only thing I did much differently than I would have before I took the class was to use a syringe to flush out the wound with water. But we patched her up and sent her on her way.

Not much to talk about, we have been sitting tight, reading, doing some driving. We took a 30 mile forest service road to Trout Lake which is at the foot of Mt. Adams. We could see the fire. We stopped in the Trout Lake General Store and I was interviewed by Portland Channel 6 for my man in the street reaction to the fire. I don’t know if it made the air so if anyone happened to see it let me know.

We will be moving on probably by this coming Tuesday.
