Civil War Reenactment
Saturday we went to Moore Park in Klamath Falls to see a Civil War Reenactment. I had never been to one before and I really find it hard to get into anything that seems to glamorize one of the low points in US history. However, this was really entertaining. The reenactors really get into their roles and the firing of blackpowder rifles and cannons was something. I think we will be attending another one of these.
I read “Buy the Chief a Cadillac” by Rick Stuber from Bonanza. The novel form of history telling is a good way to get an understanding of what happened to the Klamath tribe in 1961 when I was 11. I don’t think it goes into enough detail about how local banks and businesses ripped of the Klamaths but it does give a sense of how things were here at that time.
We are having a blast here.
