Von and I are sitting in a bar/restaurant called Waldo’s on Main Street, in old downtown Klamath Falls. Von is playing lootery games, err lottery games while I have been getting a fix for my Jones for liberal blogs. The motor home is at Smiley’s RV repair. The Jetta has a cracked windshield for which the glass is not available until the day after tomorrow. (Freezing temperatures forced a small rock chip to expand) The glass shop people were great to deal with.

I used to call this town Calamity Flats. But I must comment on how good the service and the friendliness of the people every where we have been, has been. Smiley impressed me with his knowledge of diesel engines and the work he had done when we went back to see how things were progressing after we dropped off the mh in his back yard shop for routine work was thorough and competent. The glass shop R & R’d the left side rear view mirror on the Jetta, which has been broken since we bought the car, in 20 minutes and charged nothing for it. (We already had the assembly.) Smiley will get some more work before we leave as he clearly knows the VW TDI engine and we will have him do some work on it as well as the mh. Waldo’s has free high speed WiFi, good food.

We haven’t had bad service anywhere we have been since we got here a month ago. I dunno but people looking for somewhere to travel to not too far from the Willamette Valley should check this Basin out. Tomorrow we will be going to the Favell Museum which is a world class Indian Artifact and Art Museum. I’ve already commented on the beauty of the area.

In all we have enjoyed our time here as much or more than anyplace we have visited this past year. Check it out.
