Williamsone River Headwaters
We found free camping that includes pit toilets and garbage cans here. Very unusual. The temperatures here vary by 50 degrees from freezing at night to 85 degrees high. This is a lovely campsite thirty miles from Chiloquin. No one else has camped during the four days we have been here although on Saturday 14 vehicles pulled in and parked. We were afraid that this was going to be a huge party making lots of noise but it turned out to be an Indian Funeral ceremony where they distributed ashes at the headwaters.
We plan to take advantage of the great weather and free camping for two weeks then into K Falls for some work on the Jetta. The motorhome work done at Smileys’ made an amazing difference in the performance. Hopefully we will see improved gas mileage as well.
Later,
Greg
