We’ve decided that we want to keep the motorcycle after all. For a couple of years Von has been spooked about riding with me but has said she would do so if we converted the bike to a trike. I had been pretty resistant to that idea and thought she might come around. We had had so much fun tour camping. However, she has not. Then, in our drives back and forth from the RV park, we kept going past a motorcycle store that had several trikes on display. We stopped in a couple of times and sat on them. We were sold. So I did some internet research and found this conversion:

The photo doesn’t work too well on the blog format but it is a sweet looking conversion as well as being safer to drive. We decided to have the work done at a dealer for the conversion kit up in Grants Pass. This means we will be in Oregon at Christmas time. (Lord, another run up I-5 and back.) The shop is going to drive over to Klamath Falls and get the bike out of storage for us and thinks he can get the project done before Christmas. Yippee! So it is beginning to look like my dream of touring the US on a motorcycle may well come true after all.
