Happy Thanksgiving
I hope everyone had a great Turkey Day. Von and I had a quiet day at home watching a bunch of crummy football games (none were even close). We had a light meal of grilled chicken breasts, mashed potatos and steamed broccoli. Heh. I didn’ miss the annual gorging but I do miss the leftovers, especially the white bread, mayonnaise and turkey sandwiches.
I’m writing this on Saturday morning and thinking about the upcoming Civil War game. I must be mellowing in my dotage as I actually have mixed feelings about the game. If the Beavers should win it they will go to the Rose Bowl for the first time in forever and I would like to see that. However, the Ducks are my team and we owe one to the Beavers for knocking us out of the Rose Bowl a few years ago. So I will root for the Ducks but won’t be too upset if they lose.
I dug up a photo from the 2006 Duck game against the Oklanoma Sooners taken by Dr. Jim Greer, the accountant for SEIU 503, from the end zone. It is a professional quality photo that actually captures the split second where the Ducks blocked the field goal that resulted in them going on to win the game. I used it for my avatar at ESPN and had it nixed by the moderators because they thought it was a copyrilght infringement. They let me use it after I explained where it came from. Look closely and you can see the player’s hand actually touching the football.
Go Ducks!!!
