Trike touring
We left Casa Grande on Monday at about noon, went south on Indian Road 15 through the Papago Indian reservation. We saw about 25 Border Patrol vehicles and one check point. The only thing we saw more of was road side creches and crosses. There were so many I am doubting they are all memorials to vehicle fatalities. Some were quite elaborate. Didn’t take any photos due to being so late getting on the road.
We camped at Gilbert Ray campground, a county camp outside of Tucson and a couple of miles from the Saguaro National Park. Spent two nights there and headed south and east to Benson where we took Hwy 90 through Huachuca City where my oldest spent a lot of time at Fort Huachuca getting his Army training. From there east to Bisbee and then on to an RV park/campground called Double Adobe. This is central to seeing Tombstone and Bisbee. I planned this trip after watching the movie 3:10 to Yuma. These towns are all named in the movie.
I am sitting behind the trike right now using an inverter to power the laptop. It is probably already in the low 40’s or colder so I am going to keep this short, might get some photos up in the club house though. The owners invited us in there and I can plug in. They have good wi-fi here.
Bentley is a hawg dog for sure. Seems to love sitting in my lap as we tool along. We have to get him some goggles so he can look forward rather than hunker down against the wind.
