Just time for a quick note. We went by the Kennedy Space Center and had planned to use their on-site kennel but it was closed for remodeling and we didn’t go inside, just took a few pics from outside the entrance gates.

Then up US 1 which was a very nice 4 lane divided highway with a few sweeper turns, very little traffic, and rural countryside. We stopped at a couple of motorcycle stores clustered in Daytona Beach and bought me a half helmet for the around town driving I do so much of and a pair of leather chaps for Von. Good prices for both.

Daytona is a very nice town, I can see why it is such a big rally here but it is nice to not have to be in such large crowds as come here for it.

The country here is what I expected the Everglades to look like. I’m wondering if the scarcity of vegetation there is due to draining so much of the water. I expect so.

Today will be up A1A to St. Augustine then to Fort Clinch State Park just short of the Georgia border. Only a hundred miles or so.

Pictures later.
