Acadia NP to Gorham, New Hampshire
210 miles yesterday to the White Mountains of Northern New Hampshire. Travel on Memorial Day was not bad, we got an early start and were off the freeway before it got busy, rode the backwoods across Maine and crossed into New Hampshire at about 4 o’clock. It was windy and cold so we checked into another hotel. We passed a couple of campground/rv parks just outside of this town that we could have stayed in with the new trailer. I know getting that will pay for itself in the long run.
This hotel is 80 bucks a night, we are in resort country and that was about as low a price as we could find. We were amazed that when we tried to turn on the heat, baseboard electric type, it was not on. I called the office and they offered to bring over a small space heater but then knocked on the door to tell us they were turning on the heat. That is what I call optimism, it got down to 28 degrees here last night and I can’t believe they thought they could go without heat this early in the year.
Well, except in the Northwest. Geeze, watching the national weather is making me jealous. Folks back there are enjoying what must be the best spring in 50 years. Wish we were there. I gotta say, if we had it to do over again we would not have headed east until Memorial Day. I always sorta thought the south had nice weather in the spring and maybe it usually does but not this year. And the New England area has been slow to warm up as well. Oh well, we are still having the time of our lives.
So if you are curious about this new trailer I keep bringing up here are a few photos of it.

If you want to see bigger pics, they are here.
