The ride down from Plattsburgh we used Hwy 9. It was 120 miles of sunny but cold riding to our hotel room which we got for a pretty good deal considering this is the busiest week of the year for this primarily tourist town. I had called a week and a half before to make a reservation but whoever took the call screwed up and booked it for the day I called rather than the day i wanted so they honored the price I was quoted rather than the additional thirty bucks they charge during Bike Week.

Our trailer was delivered to the hotel parking lot and the dealer set it up for us right there with a crowd of interested on lookers. It does set up pretty easily although not quite as simply as the online video makes it look.

On Tuesday we got up early and transferred our stuff from the old trailer to the new one. We shipped quite a bit of stuff to Aaron to hold for us. The cost was outrageous and I should probably have not shipped all of it since the cost to ship was more than the value of the items, save for the tent we have been using.

We then rode to an RV campground and set up the tent on our own, sort of. Mark and his RV neighbor, Mario, a French-Canadian, were there to help. It went up relatively easily but I expect it will be several times before we get it down pat.

We then went into town for lunch and watched all the bikers riding around while we ate from an outdoor balcony. There are a lot of bikes in town for so soon. Most folks don’t show up until towards the end of the week but the weather was excellent and according to Mark, who has attended many times, there were more than usual for so early.
