Rapid City/Sturgis
After we left Billings we drove to Sheridan Wyoming with a stop at the memorial to Custer’s last stand at Little Big Horn. Two nights at the KOA in Sheridan then on to Rapid City.
The battlefield memorial is intense to stand on the high ground where Custer met his fate.
Many many bikes here in Rapid city and it is 40 miles from Sturgis. We went up to Sturgis on Tuesday and walked around, what a crowd that is.
Yesterday we rode a 150 mile loop up to Deadwood, the town where Wild Bill Hickock was murdered.
We had a hell of a storm go through on Tuesday night with 60 mile an hour wind gusts knocking down our screen room even though Von and I were standing at the corners holding onto the tent poles. Lots of rain and lightening and thunder. Not much fun.
Today is overcast and breezy with rain on the way. We have to vacate our spot so will have to load up and go no matter what. We will be going to Rocky mountain np in Colorado via Nebraska today.
Gotta go, it may rain any time and we have a lot of packing up to get done.
