Left Cheyenne at 11:30 and got onto I-25 S and got off at Loveland to head east to Rocky Mountain NP. I hadn’t heard much about this park but I’m glad we took the detour. We actually reached a higher elevation than the Beartooth Pass getting above 12,000 feet on a lovely 50 mile drive through the park. The road was so much better than the Beartooth road that it didn’t seem as rugged to drive it but the views were spectacular.

We couldn’t find a campground with any open spots so we just kept going and got back onto I-25 via I-70 into Denver. Did our first night riding since we got a new alternator and headlight in New York. Landed in a Super 8 motel here in Colorado Springs at 9:30.

Heading down to Taos, NM today.
