Rapid City
Bob asked where Bentley was during the windstorm. He was cuddled up in his kennel with his sheepskin rug hiding out. He don’t like that stuff!
While getting ready to go I was getting set to load up the maps from the notebook to the GPS only to discover that the GPS had gotten broken when the wind blew over the table it was setting on. We had to go into the Cabella’s store to replace it to the tune of 300 bucks. Bummer but we have been saving all the tracks the GPS keeps so we will be able to recreate our entire trip.
I also should comment on the tent trailer. We paid an exorbitant price for a car top type bag to put stuff in that won’t fit inside the trailer. We were told it is waterproof but it is not. We also wanted to get the awning they sell for it for shade but which is much easier to set up than the screenroom. The company, Timeout Trailers, had a booth at Sturgis so we went into see them. We got the awning but were told that the bag needed to be seam sealed which we were not told when we bought it. They also said they had never heard any other complaints about it. I don’t believe that.
I had already ordered another bag which is a much better bag and for a sixth the price of the factory sold bag. It is much bigger and is waterproof without having to spend $20 on seam sealer. I will be shipping the factory bag back with a nasty note.
