Taos,NM
The drive here the day before yesterday-was a tough one. We came down I-25 to Hwy 160 westbound and hit a monstrous headwind of 20 to 30 mph. I was in fourth (of 5) gear with the throttle wide open and doing 52 mph. The wind and heat sapped us and we were exhausted by the time we got here to Taos. We decided to take a rest day so stayed at this RV park yesterday hoping to sleep in. That turned out to be impossible when a work crew began resurfacing the parking lot of the business mall just next to our camp site. Oh well, it was nice to lay around camp for a day reading and relaxing.
Taos is quite a tourist trap and we didn’t do any site seeing not wanting to fight the crowds.
We are only 550 miles from our homebase in Double Adobe and we were tempted to head for the barn but have decided to go on into Utah first then home, probably getting there by Sunday. We are pretty road weary right now.
