Flagstaff, AZ
We didn’t exactly have the short riding day we had planned on. We decided to bypass Zion NP and take the most direct way south. We got as far as Flagstaff and checked in to the Super 8 for two nights. Got rained on for the last 30 miles and had the bejesus scared out of us when a lightening flash struck less than a half mile from us and the crack of thunder nearly knocked us off the bike. Well, I exaggerate.
We had a great view of the Grand Canyon from a turn out on US 89 that is a couple thousand feet above the ground that leads to the canyon. It was too hazy to get a picture but it sure was cool.
I feel like I am coming down from an acid trip after being in the Glen Canyon. This is the most spectacular scenery we have seen the entire trip. If you haven’t seen Southern Utah, put it on your must do before you die list.
